The design team at 7-Eleven were finding it difficult to connect with and implement the research findings of various personas that the 7-Research team collected. We explored the question:
How might we activate persona research findings to impact internal design decisions for the 7NOW app?

Context Building
We conducted interviews with team members at 7-Eleven to learn why the persona research was not connecting with the rest of the teams. Our findings showed the research was not being framed in a way that was useful for stakeholders, and that research took too long to complete.

Prototypes
We prototyped our solution, named the ‘Cascade of Curiosity’ by first creating some research data to present. We conducted a workshop to test the alignment of the research and the staff in the 7NOW team, identifying key points that were powerful and inspired novel ways of thinking.

The Exhibit
Our final prototype presented the work in an exhibit, sprawling across the rooms in the Dallas office, displaying the key findings in a unique way. We also presented our ‘Quick Bite’ - a one-page summary that could highlight key findings, useful for product managers as well as design staff.
